The New Linking

On 23rd March 2021 a meeting of the Presbytery of Melrose and Peebles confirmed that we we were part of an exciting new linkage with Carlops Church, Kirkurd and Newlands Church, and St. Andrews Church, West Linton. Three weeks earlier we had said a sad farewell to Stobo Kirk whose move to a new linkage with The Old Parish Church in Peebles and Eddleston Church.

After over 40 years of a very successful and amicable linkage, the three remaining churches in the Parishes of Upper Tweeddale are looking forward to getting to know and building a new partnership with our neighbours to the north, but also hope to maintain and develop our church community across a larger Peeblesshire cluster which includes our old friends in Stobo.

The new linkage will be responsible for calling a new minister to be shared among the six congregations. The frequency of meetings for the new General Kirk session has yet to be determined.
