Skirling Kirk is a Registered Scottish Charity SCO004728
Skirling with a population of about 160 is centred on its village green just inside the border with South Lanarkshire. There are family run farms, an award winning Arts & Crafts style guest house and Douglas Davies is the resident artist. A nativity play involving many of the village children is performed in the church each year.
The earliest record of a church in Skirling is 1275, near the site of the current war memorial. It is uncertain when the first church was built on the present site but it was virtually rebuilt in 1720 and had extensive renovations in 1891. Most recently the bell tower with its unusual sundial was rebuilt in 2004. There is ironwork by Thomas Hadden on the gates to the graveyard and The Carmichael family plot is flanked by two charming angel sculptures
